What was your inspiration?
This was a request from a 13 yr. old. She wanted zebra print and hot pink & purple flowery polka dot cake. She sent me several pictures of cakes that she liked, some with flowers, some stripes, some cheeta print, some zebra....so I combined a little from all and this is what came out!
What are you most proud of?
keeping my hand steady when writing Happy Birthday! haha...it still was a little wabbly ;o)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
When using mutiple colors of fondant and you are not buying the premade colors, mix and tint the lighter colors first - don't start with the black or actually even the red because those two are the ones that will color your hands pretty well, and although you can wash your hand ten times in between colors, you don't want to take any chances on getting some off shade on you white or pale colored fondant - it not fun.
