What was your inspiration?

The Strip-Smart Quilts by Kathy Brown has some awesome patterns in it! I chose a colorful and fun jelly roll for the Pick Up Sticks pattern. I love the bright colors against the white.

What are you most proud of?

This was the most complex quilt pattern I have attempted and I am pleased with the results.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I have a big piece of felt stapled to one of my sewing room walls to use for a design wall. I helps me when I'm laying out a scrappy quilt to distribute the colors evenly. I also used more spray starch than I normally do on the bias edges of the triangles. I just use the cheap kind (Sta-Flo) you can mix with water and put in a spray bottle and it works as well as the expensive stuff (Mary Ellen's Best Press).

Excellent! I love Timeless Treasures fabric - it's got such a lovely, silky feel to it. You;ve balanced the colours very nicely, so it's well worth having a design wall if you possibly can. (I haven't :-( ! )
