Here are some details about my project:
Category Quilting
Type Functional
Style Funky

What materials did you use? Cotton quilt fabric in a 45" width for the front and the back, rick rack trim for the strings, embroidery floss, poly-fill quilt-batting, black velvet scraps for the music notes around the guitar. Quilt was tied using black embroidery cotton in the full 6strands. No special edging for sides.

What are you most proud of? It is still holding on and looks pretty darned good... for a second effort at applique quilt methods, and made prior to to all the "fusing" products on the market now. He also loved it and bragged about it. That was another "warm/fuzzy" that came from this.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take the item you want to applique and outline it on newspaper, whatever you have on hand. Mark on your ideas in coloured- pencils on the outline your "mock-up" . Make it on the paper first as you would like it to be on completion. Then when you do start to sew... your all ready to "rock & roll." Be creative and have fun.
