I only use a cup. The oil didn't stain on my clothes at all.

Reply to this comment...It's actually better to use apple cider vinegar and mix the oil in ahead of time by shaking, and to shake after each use. The oils tend to mix with alcohol if you mix them first before adding to the ACV. Only a quarter cup per load should be needed. Sometimes I also add a half cup of baking soda too, and the oils would mix in with that much easier. You probably won't have to worry about any staining if you do either of these, it's extremely diluted.
