Home, a pictorial collage

I did need to roughly sketched the main areas directly onto the canvas before I started though, and I would recommend everyone do this.

What was your inspiration?

I made this eight years ago when my mum commented on her mixed emotion about us daughters having recently begun moving away to go to university. I wanted to show her that we were all still a family and where we grew up would always be our home.

What are you most proud of?

That it really does look like our family home at the time. All our family pets are in it, and I even found 'cheater' pictures of mice to represent that we had a rodent problem in Dad's shed! I tried to show everybody doing what they love, even our cat Basil who has an obsession with hair ties. Dad passed away a month after I made this for Mum, so it will always be a special representation of a period when we were all together.

A wonderful tribute to your family's love and devotion and to honor your father forever. I love it! I, too, love to do paper mosaics and find them very relaxing and satisfying.

I love these. I do calendars each year kind of like them adding family faces to other figures. So much fun but I haven't tried it with my scrapbooking.
