What was your inspiration?

Christmas dinner is a lovely occasion at my mother's house, but we're always using napkins with little daisies and spring flowers. I wanted to make napkins that others could use at Christmas dinner with the signature shrub on the corner.

What are you most proud of?

Well, I'm not particularly pleased with the sketch, but I like that the leaves are pointed where they're supposed to be.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be inspired by the natural world in your neighborhood. I lived near an area with large American holly trees when I was growing up, and we often cut branches as centerpieces for the Christmas dinner table.
