What was your inspiration?

I fell in love with this border print, but I really should have bought another yard of it. As a result I found myself scrambling and redesigning as I worked. With the help of two great Craftsy courses I've really been working on my free motion quilting skills, but I'm afraid it's taking some time to get where I want to be. The flow and smooth stitching required for keeping on drawn lines of a stencil and for tiny things like pebbles are harder for me. I'm much more comfortable with feathers, vines, leaves, and swirls that aren't marked on my quilt. So for now I'm better off sticking with thread that blends into the background. Actually, at my age, I'm thrilled to know that I can learn so many new tricks. And patience is a virtue. :)

Another beautiful Christmas project that deserves to be looked at all the year round! I love the precision and crispness of this piece. I think your FMQ is quite marvellous - you're a very clever lady! Patricia
