Holiday Spiral Choker

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Formal / Bridal, Holiday

Materials

Seed and glass beads, fireline.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I took a gamble on this choker, knowing I was running short on beads. It would have made a lovely bracelet, but I pushed it. As a result, it is truly a "choker" to be worn by someone tall and thin. I can wear it, and it is lovely around my neck, but most would prefer something to be a bit looser. When doing spiral rope with larger elements, an allowance needs to be made for the thickness which is being created as it spirals.

this is beautiful Susan! I was looking thru Aga's class yesterday and I saw your post about buying some new tools! have they arrived yet and if they have do u find they make a difference? what tools did u buy? I am asking because I am in need of some new tools myself and I was just wondering if it's worth the cost to buy more expensive tools!

I Linda, thank you for you kind words. I do think investing in better tools has made a difference for me. I love those tronex cutters that Aga uses. They have enabled me to really cut in tight spaces and they are wonderfully sharp. I use them on wire that is 24 gauge or higher. I also bought the tronex needle nose pliers and they are very nice, too, but I love the cutters the most. They rock! Finally, I bought those skinny pointed blue light blue handled chain nose pliers she uses with the thinner tips. These are made by xuron. I bought all of them from Amazon and love them!
