Do you sell this cake? No, just for fun

Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Every year, I make multi-dimensional cookies as my Christmas cards for my friends. This year's cookie card was inspired by my Golden Retriever, Brulee. Doesn't everyone put a stocking cap and antlers on their dog at Christmas time? The base cookie is gingerbread. The head, ears and gold fur are modeling chocolate. The bow and hat are fondant plus modeling chocolate. The antlers are piped in chocolate. I drilled 2 holes in each cookie and threaded a ribbon through them before decorating so they can be hung on the Christmas tree.

What are you most proud of? All 50 cookies turned out so cute with slightly different expressions.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Draw your project out and trace around the outline. Use a scalpel (or make a cutter) to cut out the dough. Make several heads with ears out of polymer clay. Bake the one you like best and make a silicon mold from it. Use your chocolate modeling clay to make the basic heads. Put them on the cookie bases. Sculpt the mouth, shape the ears by hand. Finish all of the rest of your decorating. You have saved so much time and you get to use your favorite shaped head for all of the cookies. Each dog has such an individual look by the position of his tongue or what direction he is looking. They will just make you smile.
