Instructions

It is an easy triangle shawl from the top down. Most of the shawl is in stockinette with only 18 rows of easy lace at the bottom edge. The lace is written and charted.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Whimsical, Romantic

Materials

Knit Picks Gossamer in Sweet peas (a blend of pinks to purple). Although it is a finer yarn than is called for in the pattern I wanted to try it out.

What was your inspiration?

I saw the pattern by Mindy Wilkes on Ravelry and knew I wanted to make it. I am sure I will make more than one of these simple little kerchiefs.

What are you most proud of?

How well it turned out. I'm thinking about making one for the soon to be mother of my grandson.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are new to shawls or lace this is a good project to learn on. It starts out with stockinette and just a few lace rows that make the project beautiful. She has written out the instructions very clearly. I would advise using a row counter to keep yourself on track. Go on and try it, I swear it's very easy and you will love the result. Mindy Wilkes is a very talented designer.
