Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
High Noon Cowl »

Instructions

Can use any DK or light worsted weight yarn (preferably 100% aplaca or wool/wool blend) that is soft against your skin.

The stitch pattern is easy to memorize and the cowl works up quickly.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage, Casual, Holiday, Classic, Traditional

Materials

Araucania Atacama (100% alpaca, light worsted weight) US #7 (4.5mm) 16-inch circular needle stitch marker & tapestry needle

What was your inspiration?

I wanted something to keep my neck warm, and while I love scarves ~ sometimes they just are not the right accessory. Cowls keep me warm without falling off or getting in my way.

What are you most proud of?

The stitch pattern is a vintage one that I absolutely love! Working it into this cowl design seemed the perfect use for it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This cowl makes a great introduction to knitting in the round, along with an openwork/lace stitch pattern. The stitch pattern is easy to memorize too.
