What was your inspiration?
My designs are created for those who may have 'ugly' feet but love to wear beautiful shoes with a sandal foot. Working with patients who had diabetes and other deformities with their feet is what initially inspired me. I would hand paint a pair of shoes for them on their birthday. Currently I work with middle school students and was surprised at how many girls would wear hot shoes on very warm days because they felt they had 'ugly' feet! It was amazing to see how a simple pair of embellished shoes could boost one's self esteem!
What are you most proud of?
I am proud that most of my customers are able to wear shoes they have never considered wearing in the past because of being self conscious of their feet. What they thought was a thing of the past is no longer!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have a theme in mind and go for it! Know who your client is---------
