Instructions

This isn't difficult to make - it just takes some patience. So take your time basting and sewing the laminated cotton.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Funky

Materials

Laminated cotton, webbing, 1/2" double fold bias tape, buckle, Insul Brite

What was your inspiration?

I saw something similar on Sew4Home - but there were certain aspects that I wanted to improve on. This is bigger and more finished.

What are you most proud of?

When I was designing the pattern,I got the math right when I calculated the measurements. I love it when all the sides line up! I also perfected my double-fold bias tape technique making this. I plan on making my own bias tape on the next one.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Laminated cotton can be a pain to work with - but don't give up. I used a walking foot and some quilt basting spray. I've taught this class twice and they all turned out (some are in the picture). Everyone was amazed by how easy the bias tape was to sew.

Is there a reason the project instructions are missing?

Very nice. I have also seen the pattern on Sew4Home, but didn't realise it was not nicely finished. Lunch never looked so good!! :-)

Very nice. I have made a lunch bag from vinyl, but it is not as nice as yours!! I have also seen this pattern on Sew4Home, but I did't look at it in enough detail to realise what the finish level was. Yours look fabulous, lunch never looked so good!!

they have great ideas but I've found incorrect measurements on their patterns. so ...be extra careful! eventually I'll get the pattern posted...and maybe in metric for you!
