Hexagon Baby Blanket

Instructions

I modified the double crochet traditional grannie square to have 6 sides instead of 4, and then bordered using #52 from the book "Crochet Borders" by Edie Eckman.

I did 7 rows in Vanilla, then one in Tapestry, 3 in Vanilla, 1 in Tapestry, continuing until ending with 7 rows of Vanilla before border in Vanilla.

What was your inspiration?

Our friends had a beautiful baby girl and I wanted something a little different.

What are you most proud of?

I love the whole thing.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure the two different yarns are really the same size. I was surprised the Tapestry was thicker because as far I could understand, according to all the labels it should have been the same. But since I'm still a sort of beginner I probably read it wrong! :)
