Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
The Perfect Fit Seamless Crazy Lace Cardigan »

Instructions

this is probably NOT what you have in mind when you enroll in this class:) no lace here:) but the method of constructing a cardigan or a sweater is just brilliant and I love the fact that I can just start knitting and fit it as I go along... it was the perfect technique for this protect!
and yes, Myra´s class is a 5 out of 5!!!!

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Outdoorsy, Funky

Materials

my own homespun in the grease straight from the icelandic sheeps back so to speak

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

once you have learned the top down method you can apply it to all kinds of projects, without a lot of planning... just make it up as you go along:)

Ther is nothing in the class about adding a hood I believe. I just made that up. Here is a rule of thumb: calculate the nr. of sts that you would normally start your neck line with. Then for every 5 sts add one. That is the number of sts. that I cast on for making the hood. The just knit back and forth ( think about your edge, in case you want to knit a edge and later button band as you go). Then just keep knitting until the hood is the right size ( you fold it in half, vertically and sew the half of the cast on edges together. When the hood fist you then decrease 1 st every 5 sts, which brings you back to the number of sts you would normally begin with. Here I do a few rows, so that the neck is properly narrow ( after the wider hood), then just keep knitting as you would normally. I hope this helps:)
