Instructions

The patterns is definitely an intermediate level pattern, I listed some YouTube links for a couple of the special stitches in my pattern. Once you knit one repeat though, the rest is fairly easy, because it repeats 5 times.

What was your inspiration?

I have always wanted to make an ear flap hat, and liked the cable pattern on the flaps. With Valentine's Day coming up I thought about cables opening up into a heart shape and when a friend asked me to make a hat for her grand daughter, I decided to come up with a design for her pink hat and hearts.

What are you most proud of?

The pattern was really complicated at first, since I just knit it and wrote it up as I progressed. I made the hat several times, before I could really simplify the pattern.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?
