Unfolding Heart in tatting »
InstructionsI strung beads onto the thread before beginning to tat, and slid the beads up into the outer picots while tatting. I used 2 threads as one in this project, but that made it difficult to keep a good tension - it's much easier to tat using Lizbeth thread only.
Type of item: Accessory
Style: Formal / Bridal, Traditional, Romantic, Retro / Vintage, Victorian / Steampunk
Size 10 Lizbeth thread, size 10 seed beads, metallic embroidery thread, filigree links, gold plated chain
What was your inspiration?
It reminds me of the way plants unfurl as they grow in the spring.
What are you most proud of?
It makes a pretty heart necklace.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This project is much easier to tat using Lizbeth thread by itself. I was pushing the limits by combining the metallic thread with it.
