Heart necklace, tatting, frivolite, lace

In progress

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Unfolding Heart in tatting »

Instructions

I strung beads onto the thread before beginning to tat, and slid the beads up into the outer picots while tatting. I used 2 threads as one in this project, but that made it difficult to keep a good tension - it's much easier to tat using Lizbeth thread only.

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Formal / Bridal, Traditional, Romantic, Retro / Vintage, Victorian / Steampunk

Materials

Size 10 Lizbeth thread, size 10 seed beads, metallic embroidery thread, filigree links, gold plated chain

What was your inspiration?

It reminds me of the way plants unfurl as they grow in the spring.

What are you most proud of?

It makes a pretty heart necklace.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This project is much easier to tat using Lizbeth thread by itself. I was pushing the limits by combining the metallic thread with it.
