Materials

Cotton fabric for background, backing and binding and scraps of fabric for flowers and hearts.

What was your inspiration?

I received a pot plant with a decorative heart-on-a-stick inserted into the pot.

What are you most proud of?

I like that this mug rug says 'FUN'. It is full of colour. Also, I have attached a small hanging sleeve to the back (instructions included in the pattern) so I can hang it above my worktable when I am using a different mug rug. Pretty and functional - you can't get better than that.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make it really pretty and hang it. Every home has a place for a little quiltie like this. I also think this will make an ideal gift with a bouquet of flowers or a pot plant.

Note: You don't have to attach a hanging sleeve if you don't want though it sits just under the binding at the top and does not affect the functionality of the mug rug.
