What was your inspiration?

This is my very first quilt. This was a sampler that I learned to do from a local quilt shop. I had a stash of Hawaiian fabrics that I wanted to use.

What are you most proud of?

I learned how to make several different types of blocks and learned how to cut fabric strips and how to bind the quilt. I even did simple quilting. I really didn't know what I was doing with the quilting part. I just winged it by looking at samples.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I wanted to learn to quilt and I searched around my area to find a good beginner quilting class. Don't be afraid to try new things. I found out that I really enjoy quilting and had fun meeting the other quilters at the quilt nights.
