I barely have the nerve to cut away any more. I want to give this poor scared gal some earrings. In case I'm the only one who sees a face here, there's a woman trapped in this project. Her ears maybe a bit large, but how do you like her hat?

I agree. The first one is just getting a feel for what the heck is going to happen. What parts to leave empty for machine stitching and etc. I slashed mine too close to the thread. How to layer too. I but blue on top and then started to slash out the one area I wanted blue. Ugh. I struggled with my first one too. Looks fun.
