I used white and blue chocolate paste to cover the cake, it blends in easier at the seams and sets firm.

What was your inspiration?

I was inspired by Marina's Advanced Fondant Course.

What are you most proud of?

Getting the stripes perfectly straight and getting te edges of the cake neat and seamless, also the painting on the top of the cake.

Hi Eman, I layed the chocolate paste stripes on wax paper using a ruler to guide me to make them straight and then I folded the wax paper around my cake. This is the same technique that is usually used to make a chocolate collar, i just used modelling chocolate instead of melted chocolate;-)

Thanks, I placed them on a piece of waxed paper and then wrapped it around the cake.

Did you do this like the inlaid stripes Marina taught? Or did you do them strip by strip? I've heard of people doing them strip by strip, but that would probably drive me batty!
