Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Funky

Materials

cloth, batting, threads, shoelace, button, leather lace

What was your inspiration?

I recently received a new sewing machine and this was a terrific way to get to know my machine and all of its stitches. My practicality is expressed in the function of my piece. It holds a pandigital reader and is embellished with a button and leather lace. I loved the entire process and plan on doing many more.

What are you most proud of?

I like my choice of color, stitch, and my flexibility to suit this project to my needs.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be sure and leave room for quilting. It's easy to carried away with stitching because the process is so much fun.

Would you like corner pieces to hold the ipad in place and then wrap it (like the red one I made) . Or are you interested in something like a pouch/purse like cover?

It measures 9-1/2 x 7-1/2 and is 1/4" deep. This is so generous of you to offer but not necessary! Come to the meeting in any case!

I'd like to meet you. If you provide me with some dimentions, I'll do my best to make you one. I must know where the places for cords are on the iPAD-2. I don't want to cover them.

I love the leather pieces in the corners of the holder. Not only does it provide a very secure place for the device but, the texture and difference in fabric is attractive. Thank you soooooooooo much for making this such a fun thing to do. I first became introduced to you by your exhibit at the Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, CO. I was immediately drawn to the color, lines, and texture.

I want this! Love how you finished the edges. The yellow thread and hand stitching make this unique and the button you chose is just perfect,

Do you have a piece of technology that I can wrap for you? I have discovered that it's not the best for a phone but ereaders, notebooks, and that type of technology can be nicely wrapped in a similar package.

This pandigital reader is my friends. It's like an ereader, or a notebook. (Apparently Kohl'l sells this type of reader)
