What was your inspiration?
I loved the bright colors in the Happy charm pack but had no idea what I would do with them. When I saw the tutorial on Youtube, I thought it was perfect. I had a beautiful hand dyed piece of fabric I thought would be perfect for the squares that would become the small squares. It was fun arranging all the blocks.
What are you most proud of?
I tried to machine tie this quilt. It turned out pretty cute. Then I threw it in the washer and the ribbon I had used for the ties fell apart in the wash. I was devastated. I'm most proud that I was able to take a step back, analyse the situation, confer with my mom, and come up with a solution to save my project. I think it actually turned out better than the original effort.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have fun! Don't stress over similar fabrics being too close to each other or work yourself up over the placement of the blocks! Just have fun!
