Thanks for the explanation about free patterns---I guess it is just the title " free patterns " that confused me---maybe the projects should be titled something like Original Creations by Craftsy Members!!!

I don't understand what free patterns means as I never find a pattern--am I missing a way to find the free patterns?

It means that the person did not buy the pattern It does not mean it is posted anywhere. I made this quilt with an idea from one I saw in a book or magazine from scrap fabrics. I rarely use a pattern or kit prefering to just wing it and do my own thing. I am thinking of measuring it up and making a pattern.
