I used yarn I handspun from some colorfully dyed cotton roving. But any "string" would work nicely for making a market bag like this for your eco-friendly shopping trips.

What was your inspiration?

Using natural fiber materials for an eco-responsible project.

What are you most proud of?

This bag scrunches down to almost nothing until needed; then expands to accommodate more fiber stash purchases or whatever. I like it at the beach or poolside, too, because I don't have to worry about it getting wet.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

There are 2 sizes give in the pattern. The "Little Shopper" (which is the one I made here) is plenty big. The "Big Shopper" size would be HUGE, but if you mainly want to use this as a beach bag, then the larger size would be better to accommodate towels, etc.
