Handmade, Humble & Huggable Bear!

Pink Bear for Baby

Pink Bear for Baby
Two Scruffy Twins

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Huggable Bear »

Instructions

I handcut my own nose from inexpensive felt, then used a backstitch with a Japanese needle to secure it on the bear. The nose shape gives each bear its own unique character! It was fun to see each bear I made develop its own personality, which I intended to do, based on the unique child who will be receiving this handmade treasure for Christmas.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Toy

For: Children

Style: Cute, Holiday, Traditional

Materials

Depending on the child, I used soft pink yarn for baby, and eyelash yarn for older boy and girl.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of finishing three bears on time to be unwrapped!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Really cherish the magic of toymaking - which I feel is now going to be an annual effort on my part!

Miss Cara, your bears, all three, are delightful. such a good idea to use a fleecy yarn for babies, I do the same, that or a nice soft cotton. I really enjoyed reading your sentiments about the joy of creating and giving, so true and exactly how I feel when I'm creating a bear for with someone in mind to give it to. Thank you for creating these beautiful bears from my design, you have a natural gift of bear making.

Thank you for creating such a lovely pattern. These bears were the hit of the Christmas gathering by the children - and one child even received a nintendo and the other, an ipad. Now this was suprising! I loved your pattern and my family members did too. Thanks for making our Christmas so memorable.

They are so cute. I think I should pick up this pattern. Beras are a great idea for new babies gift or Christmas gifts. Thank for this post and great idea!
