What was your inspiration?
Every spring, our family is greeted by a profusion of poppies that grow alongside our house. Since we live in the Midwest and are covered with snow much of the winter, these early blooming plants are usually the first to break the gray dreariness of winter. The memory of their cheerful color and short lived blooms warm my heart, no matter what time of year.
I've translated the poppy's circular petals into a series of pendants in rich, warm copper. I wear a similar piece almost every day and it lifts my mood whenever I happen to catch a glance of it.
