Instructions

I love to knit socks. Everyone gets a new pair each Christmas and they also make wonderful gifts at other times of the year. These are knit with commercial yarns but I also spin some pretty *mean* handspun sock yarns in some really luxurious fibers.
Want to have them knit to order? You can order custom handknit socks on my Etsy Shop Or order custom handspun yarns. Be sure to mention that ...

What was your inspiration?

Oh, knitting socks is like a meditation for me. It's what I do to relax. The project is small enough to tuck into my purse so a project goes with me everywhere I go. But none of this compares with the wonderful way that my feet feel when I wear them. I hardly wear any other socks anymore, they are so cozy... I think they make me feel better all over.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

You can knit socks! don't be afraid, just like any knitting project just take it step by step. If you can read and know how to knit, pick up, increase and decrease you can knit socks. However, it is terribly addictive. you may not be able to stop long enough to do the dishes.

Ooooh! I love these socks! I just knitted my first sock and you are correct, it is addictive. I can never purchase a pair that I really like to wear so decided I would just learn to knit my own. I can't wait to see more from you.
