What materials did you use? Batiste cotton and silk batting

What are you most proud of? I completed the quilt. This is my attempt at a whole cloth quilt, which unfortunately had to be done in sections so I could handle it. It is quite small, (40 x 40)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The pictures are all the same quilt. Photo taken inside and out in various lighting to try to show stitches.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, Ladymax. What patience and determination. I tried to hand quilt a while back, it was a learning experience, but not really my thing, so kudos to you for sticking to it and creating such a wonderful piece. 40 X 40 is plenty big for hand quilting!

Hey QuiltDude. many thanks. Even quilting buddies do not do everything the same, you don't hand quilt and I don't do free motion ( you are great at that ). I am still gathering fabric for the pattern you shared and am looking forward to hand quilting that one.

Wow Ladymax what a wonderful job you've done, it's absolutely gorgeous, it must have taken you ages, what an achievement, beautiful.

Many thanks. It is so much easier than I thought, and can be done at times when it is not convenient to use a sewing machine, like on the back deck it good weather.

You are really doing a great job at this! Your straight lines look very nice and the dark blue thread adds a lot of texture to the quilting. How did you like the silk batting?

I LOVE silk batting. It makes the hand quilting fun and not the chore it was with cotton batting. Also the batiste also seems to be so much easier to quilt. I started hand quilting as a lark, just so I could say I had tried. This is no longer the case. I will continue, many thanks to you.

What a beautiful piece, very brave using contrast thread!

Thank you. Not brave, when I do that much work, I want to see it.
