Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Marshmallow fondant. Tylose powder was used to stiffen the fondant for the bow and roses. Hand painted using this technique. I reverse traced a pencil tracing then painted with gel food coloring thinned with vodka. The scalloped circles were from a cookie cutter and the piano keys were oringinal.
What advice would you give someone starting this project? Search fabric stores for the most beautiful rose patterns then trace the design on tracing paper. Flip the tracing paper over and trace the rose right onto the fondant. Note: Let the fondant set for about 8 hours, then rub the area with a bit of Crisco before you try to trace your pattern on. This video taught me how to do this cake. Thanks soooo much!
