Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Classic

Materials

These fabrics are from a recent play day using fiber reactive dyes. They are 100% cotton. I will use these in quilts and for fabric flowers.

What was your inspiration?

I love surprises and creating these dyed fabrics is like Christmas morning! You open up your dye packages and you never know quite what you will have!

Hi Rae,I also live in Australia - I just started Jane Dunnewald's CRAFTSY course. It is wonderful. You get all the dyes from "Unique Stitching" .Postage is prompt - get the soda ash from supermarket or hardware store. For reliable water quality use a slab of 600ml botted water from supermarket and mix your dyes in the bottles -no mess. It works out well!

Hi Rose. love the colours. perhaps you can explain the process of doing your own fabrics as a lot of quilters do not know just how to go about doing them. I live in a small town in Australia so we have very little way of these crafts being shown how to do them. .We are over a hundred klms to the nearest large town.Thank you so much for showing us these beautiful fabrics. your quilts must be amazing. Again thank you. Rae

I recommend the Jane Dunnewald Craftsy class on using fiber reactive dyes - I used a bit different approach for these, but her class is an excellent introduction to the process
