What was your inspiration?
After starting to work with flat metals I had the idea for this bracelet. The idea rattled around in my head for a while till I decided just how to make it. I love the look of the hammered metal after it has been torched and this was a fun project.
What are you most proud of?
This bracelet fits well and is light even thou it's 20 gauge sheet metal. The rivets turned out very well and the layers of other metals lie flat and have created a good visual.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is a good project to practice different styles of hammered textures. I used 4 different hammers to create different textures on each section. I used a punch to make the holes and used ready made rivets to add the layers of metal. The center section has a cupped piece of brass with a stone in the center. The cupped square was made with a doming block. I use a metal block. Each section was completed then connected with links from a purchased chain.
