Halloween Long Necklace

Closeup of bail

Instructions

Boo charm stamped with letters Boo, then covered with Martha Steward glitter paint. Hand made bail formed from 16 gauge copper wire, formed around a large pill bottle. Amount of beads in between each charm depends on size and width of beads/charms. To finish the bail, bend each end inward to form a small loop first, then bend again outwards for the larger loop to hold the cording.

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Holiday, Cute, Whimsical

Materials

Polymer clay ghost, stamped "Boo" charm, skull charm, spider lampwork bead, spiderweb round charm, various orange, black and purple beads from my stash, copper wire for bail, black seed beads for separators, ceramic beads for end of bail, leather cording, orange hemp cord, foldover brass ends, spring ring clasp.

What was your inspiration?

I made the polymer clay ghost and the stamped Boo charm about two weeks ago, and I needed to finish this before Halloween! I also like the spider charm - puffy clear sticker on blank, covered with Dimensional Magic.

What are you most proud of?

That I stopped what I was doing and finished a necklace for myself. I rarely do that! I was also glad that I found a scary skull charm - so many of them are too cutesy for what I wanted. I also like how the effect of the cris-crossed orange hemp around the leather. The leather alone was just too plain.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Do something for yourself every once in a while!

I am sure you could make more of these than I could!! The spiderweb is a puffy vinyl sticker on a round blank covered in dimensional gloss. Turned out pretty good!
