Instructions

I have the step-by-step instructions outlined on my blog. I wouldn't call it a pattern, but there may be some ideas you could use if you wanted to make this yourself. Also, there is a picture of my blistered finger and a warning that hot glue is hot. (Please learn from my mistakes.)

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Costume

For: Women

Style: Holiday

Materials

Papier mch, fabric, glue, synthetic hair, Sculpey, paper, tape.

What was your inspiration?

My Office is doing Star Wars as a theme for Halloween... I saw this costume online and thought I would like to give it a try. The dress was easier... this took a lot of trial and error.

What are you most proud of?

I like the paper mache base. I had never worked with it before to make any kind of headdress.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Seriously, hot glue is hot. Avoid burning yourself. Unfortunately, I had to learn this on three different fingers over several days. Ouch.
