Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Satin Ice Vanilla fondant pre-colored to orange, Vanilla Candy Clay for the bats and white pumpkins, homemade buttercream frosting, and I used the Wilton checkerboard cake mold for a 2 colored checkerboard design on the inside.

What are you most proud of? My finished project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Plan and do what you can in advance like baking the cakes and making the batch of candy clay the day before so the cakes are nice and cool and workable and the candy clay is firm and easy to work with. Also watch the Modern Buttercream class.

Great job and advice. This is super cute and I may make for work. Suggestions on making spider and legs? Love how he's standing up so high off cake. Thanks for any guidance.

Thanks! Actually the spider is a plastic decoration I bought at the cake supply store. It is the only thing on this cake that is not edible.
