Hairpin Shawl

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Hairpin Shawl by Margret Willson »

Instructions

As the yarn varied in size, I found it easier to use a 5mm hook for the hairpin loops and a 4mm hook for crocheting the borders and joining strips.

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Mod, Classic, Romantic

Materials

Moda Vera Guilia (53% Nylon, 47% Wool), 1 skein = 50g, 82 yards, 7 skeins cream, 4 skeins brown, 4mm and 5mm hooks

What was your inspiration?

My first hairpin project and a good pattern for learning.

What are you most proud of?

Turned out great and now looking for my next hairpin project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a great pattern for learning hairpin. It doesnt matter if you only pick up 3 or 5 loops every so often, as long as you have the correct number of groups in the strip. I only did five strips instead of 6, but that was because I used a bulky yarn.

Lovely, Margret, and you can make it 'grow' at a later date.
