Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: I made a template of the guitar body, the neck and head of the guitar. I baked 3 cakes and then I cut the shape of the body out of Styrofoam for a base. I carved around the base to form the shape. I made the neck and head out of Styrofoam. Then I covered the whole thing with fondant. I had some trouble with the top. My fondant stretched and tore. That is why there is a big scar on the front. I then cut out the sound hole and the design area around the hole. I cute a ring for the design area, and a dark colored circle to fill in the hole. I made the plate and fret board. I ran out of time to finish the lines on the fret board, and I didn't have any strings to put on this one. The lines weren't as clean as I would like, and there are a few mistakes, but I like it as a first effort. I will be trying this one again.
