What materials did you use? ThimbleBerries: Greetings from Canada Fat Quarter Pack

What are you most proud of? The quilting detail: Because the fabrics were "Greetings from Canada" I thought the quilting motif should be a maple leaf. So I found a suitable maple leaf photo and created a single run, running stitch embroidery for the 200 X 200 quilting hoop (the blocks were 8 X 8) - the embroidery worked perfectly. I also scaled it down to 2 X 2 so I could have a small maple leaf in each corner.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The reason I have been piecing the backs of my most recent quilts is because it allows me to get away with a single length of fabric for the backing fabric! My quilts are lap quilts - close to WOF - just a bit over so in order to get away with a single length of cloth, if I add a stripped piece, my fabric is wide enough!

Beautiful! I like how the narrow strip sets off the blocks and the quilting is great. How fitting to use a maple leaf motif for a Canada memories quilt.
