Instructions

Don't be afraid to try it. It is actually very easy to do!
I find it helps if you first watch the instructional videos first then watch the one that peaked your interest. Then gather all your supplies, download and print out all the patterns and instructions you will need. I found it helpful to have a hard copy in my hands while following along with the video. Then cut out your strips and ...

Materials

100 % Cotton Fabrics I had on hand at home. Peggy Martin's Paper Piecing course Regular sewing notions, scissors, thread, rotary cutters, quilting rulers, pins etc. Downloads of Peggy Martin's patterns for paper piecing, "Pinwheel Polka"

What was your inspiration?

Peggy Martin!

What are you most proud of?

That I was actually able to make the block even with a failing sewing machine!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take you time, don't put yourself on a time limit. I find that I relax and don't stress if I am not on a time crunch in my head! Try it! It is really a lot of fun!! And Peggy is an exceptional instructor! You'll love her course on paper piecing.

Thank you Mo! To me it looked like the pinwheel is blowing in the wind with the puffy clouds behind it

You're choice of colors and prints is amazing... your block looks like I'm either staring into a pool, or up into a (green) sky with puffy clouds. Love the finished product too!

Oh my goodness........this is so beautiful. Love the colors. You should be proud to have it all done. I have the same course and am anxious to start it, BUT have had a splint on one hand for almost three months and am supposed to be resting it. LOL Your work is an inspiration to get me going. Just gorgeous. I don't think I need a splint --- just a maid. Like that would ever happen

haha and I quote: Take you time, don't put yourself on a time limit. I find that I relax and don't stress if I am not on a time crunch in my head! Try it! It is really a lot of fun!! Not sure if this should apply to the comment about "dying to finish" or you are almost finished with a quilt you started in 1997! lol I think we are kindred spirits!
