What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Determine whether you crochet with loose or tight tension as the length of the scarf is determined in the chain. Increase chain in multiples of 8 to increase length.

I like the single color yarn compared to the multi-colored yarn shown with the pattern from RedHeart. The beautiful pattern is more noticeable. Very nice!
