Instructions

This is my second project in the Knit Lab class and it seems to be everyone's favorite. I love how simple it is yet how you get such great texture. Mine is still a work in progress as I plan to make it about twice as long as it is now :)

What was your inspiration?

I was just wanting a nice basic scarf that would match a lot of my wardrobe and I think I succeeded :)

What are you most proud of?

I'm so proud of mastering seed stitch! I an an English knitter, so it was just not computing when I first started out on this scarf, but I went back to it a week later after watching some youtube videos and nailed it and haven't stopped since. This is the project I get the most compliments on when I work on it and my little sister even looked up the basket weave stitch to try to make a similar one for herself.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are an English knitter and are having trouble with seed stitch, look on you tube and pinterest for video tutorials to clarify it a little more. I kept forgetting to move my yarn to the front and back to switch between knitting and purling so I would end up with more than twice the number of stitches I had cast on. Keep trying and you will get it!
