What was your inspiration?

Hi, my name is Jaime, and I am a stay at home mom with a passion for jewelry making, knitting, occasionally TWILIGHT, and especially my wonderful 4 year old daughter, Isabelle, the inspiration behind Shes-A-Belle Designs.

The last 6 years of my life have been rough. I was extremely close to my father, and he starting getting sick shortly after I was married. He was in and out of hospitals constantly due to an enlarged heart. Because of this, I think he started to make peace with himself, and God. He encouraged me to start making rosaries for the people who didnt have any at his church. Because of this push, I started to make my jewelry again. Shortly afterwards, he passed away, not a week after my daughters 1st birthday. It took me awhile get over this loss, but jewelry designing has helped in a HUGE way. It is my creative outlet, and just one way I try and stay sane.

I have always loved going to antique stores and just looking at past jewelry creations, and having rooted through my grandmothers jewelry box as a child, I think that steered me in this direction. I personally get my inspiration from the past, starting with medieval designs and commencing up to Edwardian and Victorian designs. I am also starting to delve into the steampunk realm, and incorporate a lot of gears and propellers into some of my designs.

My 4 year old daughter Isabelle also inspires me, and I usually end up making her and her friends pretty princess earrings and necklaces. I have also recently branched out into dyeing and creating some of my own lucite flowers, and creating unique stones for my rings. So far, it has been a learning experience., but I am definitely having fun doing it, so that is all that matters.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of how far my designs have come in the past 2 years, mainly because I am not afraid to try new ideas or techniques.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you have an idea, go with it, regardless of whether or not it may not work. Trial and error is the best way to learn and grow.

AMAZING! These are so simple yet elegant. Thanks. They are great in a soft emerald. I made them as a gift for a friend. I was so honored when she wore then to get married. I had no idea until I saw her getting ready, they were the only jewelry she wore except her engagement ring. Again, thank you so much.
