What materials did you use? My grama's vintage table runners and pillow cases and 30's repro fabrics.

What are you most proud of? How talented my grama was...I wish I could embroider like her.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't be afraid to cut these runners. I'm using the other half of these runners to make a valance for my sewing room. I will be hand quilting this project as I think these vintage pieces deserve to be hand quilted.

What a beautiful way to repurpose old (but treasured) linens. I would think your technique would work well with embroidered hankies, tea towels, and other vintage linens as well. I love the way you framed each piece of embroidered "art".

I simply love this idea. Even if you don't have family linens laying around, you can pick them up at junk/thrift stores & yard sales.

Marnel, this is truly lovely. I agree with your advice 'Don't be afraid to cut...'. Too many times, whether it be hankies, scarves, etc., we are better served putting them into a project that will be seen rather than hidden away in a drawer.
