this blanket is made up of 8" granny squares in a 5 x 5 pattern and can be made larger or smaller depending on the size of the squares or simply by adding or subtracting rows of squares. very easy to piece by sewing or crocheting the squares together. a border was crocheted around the edge os 2 rows of sc, on the 3rd row 1sc, ch 3 skip next 2sc and 1sc into the 3rd sc space, 4th row is *1sc, 1 ...

the holes in the granny squares in this project were fascinating for the baby. she loved poking her fingers through the blankie and she could get her hands right in there
