I found this basic Ohio Star crib-sized baby quilt in a booklet "PS I love You Two" by Nancy J. Smith and Lynda S. Milligan. I used the templates and ideas for placement from this book.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Whimsical, Traditional

Materials

cotton fabrics, quilt batting, quilting thread

What was your inspiration?

I've taken a simple basic crib size quilt pattern and placement ideas from
"PS I Love You Two" booklet.

What are you most proud of?

I have so much fun putting together colors and fabrics when I make this quilt. I tink I've made it unique and interesting for children by adding whimsical pictures. I used the sewing machine to stitch the top together, then hand quilted around each piece.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Choose a color scheme, then have fun in a fabric store looking for the fabrics and designs that will make it yours.

Very nice. It seems that this star pattern is adaptable to nearly any sized quilt!!! I think that I may need to make a throw or twin quilt someday!

I have always loved stars, but have only attempted them once. You did a fantastic job with the colors!
