What are you most proud of? Searching and coming up with the perfect pan to create the base of the Graduation Cap. This is a pan which holds 4 cones, I used my scratch pound cake receipe and it came out perfect.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Prepare ahead of time. All props must be make ahead of time to dry. Also, buy pre-colored Black Fondant, what a difference this makes

how can i make the decorations for the maggsg's cake

The ODC Logo and the Congratulations are icing sheets, ordered at our logo cake supply. The Letters are made of Gumpaste, The graduation Cap is a cake made with a Fat Daddio small sphere pan the top part is just a cut out square of Gumpaste. The tassel is make by using an Extruder. Cap is covered in Black Fondant. I hope this helps.

I forgot the graduates are carved from a template I got I believe on the Wilton Site, as well as the caps.

For the decorations you will need the following: Star Cutters, floral Wire, A domed cake pan, Sold by Wilton, this is for the Cap. The top of the cap is done free hand using gumpaste or fondant w/tylose added, and cut so it is not too big for the bottom. The tassels are made using fondant w/tylose added and putting it threw an extruder. You will have to buy the neccessay number and letter cutters. I purchased by numbers and letters from Nicholas Lodge web site. The fgraduate figures I googles graduate templates and made a template on card stock and hand cut all the figures and caps. I hope this helps!
