What materials did you use? MX dyes cotton homespun

What are you most proud of? I can manage the dyes and can mostly predict their behaviour now. But not the tones that will come from the experiments.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you want to do this with dyes get a standard concentration and stick with it. Then you will be able to compare results from one experiment to the next.

The blends look really quite beautiful. It looks as if your steps from red to the first blend and the blue to the first blend were quite pronounced jumps. If you want to see the hues between those, just add a tad bit of the blue to the orange and the orange to the blue; keep adding tiny amounts until you get to these other colors. Then you'll find the colors have a fluid blend. I do like the deep browns that you have blended (at least that looks like the color on my monitor). Thanks for sharing.

Is using fabric paints part of what is discussed and taught during this class?

Hello Donna, No fabric dyeing is another course on craftsy with Jane Dunnewold. I have enrolled in both of these courses and find them both really inspirational - I can see I will be learning from them for the next year or so as I go back over all the exercises. Have fun.
