Quilting Quickly: Patterns, Techniques & Tips »

Instructions

Just followed half-square triangle instructions. Machine quilted with a dragonfly motif to compliment one of the prints in this Kate Spain line.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Girls

Style: Casual, Cute

Materials

1 charm pack Good Fortune by Kate Spain for Moda Fabrics White, pink and green yardage from Joann's

What was your inspiration?

I love the many possibilities of half square triangles & the zig-zag is a classic design.

What are you most proud of?

This was my first attempt at free-motion quilting & only my 2nd quilt ever made. I'm most proud that it didn't fall apart when I washed it!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Chain-piecing will save a lot of time, but don't sacrifice accuracy and precision.

I think this is adorable! I think I'll use the half square triangle zig-zag pattern for a border!
