Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. This is a painting for my upcoming solo show called "Faces of God." 24" x 30", acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas. Rule of Thirds helped me immensely. I got images using a search engine that inspired me, but, being a folk artist, my stuff never looks like the photos! I had fun with this. The purple sheep's fluffy wool is made of overlapping purple spirals. God seems to be growing mandalas in one of his fields, and He has extraordinary landscaping! I included the sheep for its obvious symbolism, and bees because of the current worldwide honey bee crisis. on

Is the piece for sale? Yes on

What are you most proud of? His kind, gentle face. on

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Get a really tiny brush if you're going to paint honey bees! They have legs, antennae, stripes. Paint the background first and work forward. on

This is so cheery! Love the color, pattern, and texture. More, please.
