Giraffe for my niece!

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
The (Not So) Itty-Bitty Giraffe »

Instructions

I followed the instructions pretty closely. This knitting pattern is a real winner!

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Toy

For: Children

Style: Whimsical, Cute

Materials

Cascade 220 Superwash yarn

What was your inspiration?

A baby gift for my sister in law was the starting point. Several people suggested I get the Itty Bitty Toys book and it seemed like 10 minutes after it arrived the Craftsy class launched. So, it was serendipity.

What are you most proud of?

OOh, I don't know. I think the whole thing is cute. But I guess the face is the one thing that could have really blown the project in the end. So, I like how it came out.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just follow Susan's instructions. Also, don't over-stuff - particularly the legs. I think getting the stuffing right is pretty important to the overall look. If you over-stuff, you lose the shape of the body and face and your giraffe looks bloated.
